TIMO AND THE KEY TO EVERYTHING

Timo is a clever Egyptian street cat with an ego the size of the pyramids. When he finds a mysterious ankh key, he time-travels to ancient Egypt and accidentally changes history. Then he comes back to claim the credit!

The High Priest hands Timo the sacred golden key

Cairo has a new legend. His name is Timo — and he has never been caught. He lives on the streets of Cairo, where every alley belongs to him and every dog has learned the hard way to mind their own business. Timo has no home, no plan, and absolutely no collar.

Until one afternoon, a hole appears in the ground. When Timo stumbles into an undiscovered Egyptian tomb — full of glowing golden walls and drawings that nobody has ever seen — he finds a collar in the centre of the room. Ancient. Humming. Extremely beautiful. Between us: it is also very shiny.

In a flash of golden light, Timo finds himself in ancient Egypt — standing in the middle of a very important ceremony — with a great many people staring directly at him. When the High Priest raises his hand to point at the large, important temple cat beside him... he sneezes. His arm swings all the way around. His finger lands on Timo.

"The Guardian of the Temple has been chosen."

Timo says nothing. His tail goes very high.

His first hour on the job starts brilliantly — until the sacred golden key disappears into the Sacred Pool with a very small plop. What follows is a search through every room in the temple, a high-speed chase through an ancient Egyptian market with a fast and entirely unreasonable monkey, and one spectacular accident involving a thief and a flying key — that Timo will absolutely claim he engineered from the start.

MEET TIMO

Timo, a sleek black Egyptian cat

Meet Timo, a sleek black Egyptian cat with a gold earring, an enormous ego, and a glowing collar that flings him into the great moments of history.

There's just one problem: Timo is convinced he caused every single one of them.

In each standalone adventure, Timo lands in a famous moment from the ancient world and, usually by accident, and always while chasing something, changes everything, then takes all the credit.

Children laugh at the cat who thinks he built history; grown-ups catch the real history hiding underneath.

WHY KIDS LOVE IT

  • A funny, fast-moving adventure in easy read-aloud language
  • Vibrant comic-strip pages set in the streets of Cairo and ancient Egypt
  • A “Did that really happen?” page with real history about ancient Egypt
  • Bonus coloring pages starring Timo himself
